Oh wow, a full two years since my last update! Thank goodness for Twitter, you might have though’t I’d passed away.
It has really gone by quickly, my 5th veganiversary was just earlier this month! I’m so happy and thankful to say that it has been nothing but an amazingly positive experience.
I’m in the Santa Cruz area now, working and living at a farm. I’m still riding bikes, though not nearly as much as before because I’ve got no commute! I bought a sweet old van last year too (I think I might have tweeted some pictures of it), so I can use that to go to town for groceries and stuff. I have to admit, it feels pretty good to ride purely for enjoyment.
A big project I’ve been working on the past few years has been songwriting, and I’m really happy to say that just yesterday I was able to upload some songs I’ve been recording over the last few months. It’s called Green Waves, and can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/greenwavesmusic
In other vegan news, I have to give a shout out to my amazingly awesome girlfriend of almost one year now! She is vegan too, an amazing cook, musicican, friend, and all-around inspiration to me. I’m typing this from her room where she’s allowed me (and Uno) to move in and take over her desk with an impromptu music studio while I’m on vacation from work. Love you babe, you’re the best!
So I’ve got some big plans for the site… I want to go on a huge bike ride! Big surprise? I met a guy once on a ride who was going to all 50 states (48? I’d wanna do 50..) and I haven’t been able to shake that idea ever since. I’d love to rep veganism the whole way with a sweet jersey or even a flag (I wonder if Uno would like to ride in a kiddie trailer.. hmm, might need a catsitter) and would really love to raise some money for charity! So I’m gonna look into Kickstarter and some other avenues for fundraisisng, but I’m thinking this could maybe really actually happen? So stay tuned for that. Also if you have any insight, ideas and/or advice for this type of thing I would love to hear it (if you are Josh Hooten, you may be hearing from me in the near future)!
